Various context can be enumerated for different sciences. Paying attention to these contexts and their accessories can clarify the distinction between Islamic social sciences and Western social sciences. Reflecting on the various contexts of sciences seems essential for researchers who desire another science. Basically, pondering on what science is, its limits and limitations, and its different fields is a condition for any researcher in this direction. Now, is there a difference between Islamic social sciences and Western social sciences in all these fields, or is the distinction specific to some of these fields? If so, what are those fields? In different sciences, by reflection and induction, at least twelve fields can be enumerated: description, discovery, understanding, explanation, justification or method of justification, theory, acceptance of hypothesis, prediction, concepts, application, recommendation, and object. This article first briefly discusses the differences between these fields and then, focusing on the field of description, explores the differences between Islamic social sciences and Western social sciences in this field and answers the following question: Are the descriptions used in Islamic social sciences and Western social sciences the same? And if not, where is the distinction?
