The Prophet’s Confrontation and Social Interaction with Women in Medina
Method of interaction of the Prophet with different strata varied according to the conditions of time and place. During the stay in Medina, His behavior can be explored and modeled in a particular way and from a variety of dimensions. One of these dimensions is His interactions as a leader and governor of the society with women as a stratum.
This paper seeks to answer “how the Prophet interacted with women in Medina?”, so that the principles governing the interactions can be inferred from investigating and analyzing these interactions. The required information is collected from historical documents and reports. In this study, in addition to the method of historical analysis, sociological approaches have also been used so in this research, historical analysis has been done by mental attendance.
The research results can be summarized as follows: the Prophet in His interactions with women sough to attract Muslims’ attention to women’s rights and place and their human values and to stabilize women’s status so that they can be involved in the political affairs of the society. The covenant of women with the Prophet, their presence in wars and other decisive events are the best evidence for this claim. On the other hand, in their interactions with the Prophet, women sought to find awareness and gain rights that had been ignored in the former barbarism, but which had been emphasized by Islam.
