Communication system in the Safavid era

Abstract

Communication was formed and continued in history since humans formed society together with other humans. Communication studies throughout history can bring many achievements for communication researchers. One of the important historical periods in the history of Iran is the Safavid era. During the Safavid era, when a central and powerful government was formed, we witness fundamental and important changes in all dimensions of human and social collective life. One of these dimensions is the communication system. The communication system in the Safavid era was more developed and organized than in other periods. The purpose of this research is to examine the elements and components that make up and strengthen the communication system in the Safavid era, using the descriptive and analytical method in the field of historical studies under the three main components of the transmitter, channel and communication places, the twelve elements of Shatran, Chapars, world travelers, scholars and thinkers, art, language, political communication, city and communication ways, caravanserais, mosques, shrines, coffee houses, formation and communication have been explored.
