Abstract

Children and school students are the foundation of every society, and therefore their education is of paramount importance. One of the tactics employed by adversaries to dominate societies—especially students—is the initiation of cognitive wars. They attempt to capture the hearts and minds of students to prevent them from making sound decisions. This study aims to examine the consequences of cognitive warfare and the strategies for dealing with it. The research method is descriptive-analytical and conducted using a qualitative approach. The findings indicate that cognitive warfare leads to identity transformation among students by altering their thinking patterns, inducing fear, and spreading hopelessness. Furthermore, over-engagement in virtual spaces contributes to a significant decline in academic performance. In response, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided strategies for counteraction in the “Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution” statement. Key solutions include enhancing students’ insight and discernment, strengthening their media literacy, deepening spirituality, enriching their faith, and promoting an Islamic lifestyle through persuasive methods.
