The difference between two generations is called 'generation gap' -which is the difference in values or norms and attitudes. In the field of sociology of generation in Iran, two opposing views titled the 'generation gap view', and the 'generation agreement' view can be mentioned. This paper, with examination of the basic components of the Iranian culture and identity, seeks to study this generation gap using beliefs, values, attitudes, emotions, norms and behaviors of the Iranian community after the Islamic revolution. These aspects are derived from the "Iranian values and attitudes" survey, which conducted in 2003. The results show that there are continuity and agreement at the level of beliefs and values and a slight difference is normal for every community, but in context of some norms and behaviors, there is significant difference, which can be called generation gap in behaviors and symbols. تفاوت اندک دو نسل، در‌ همه‌ جـوامع‌ و زمـان‌ها به‌طور طبیعی وجـود داشته است. از اختلاف‌ دو‌ نسل، با مفهوم گسست نسلی ـ که عبارت‌ از اختلاف در ارزش‌ها یا هنجارها و نگرش‌هاست ـ ، یاد می‌شود. در زمینه «جامعه‌شناسی نـسلی در ایران» می‌توان از دو دیدگاه مـعارض، با عناوین: دیدگاه «گسست نـسلی» و دیدگاه «وفاق نـسلی» نام برد. این نوشتار با بررسی مولفه‌های اساسی فرهنگ و هویت ایرانی، به‌دنبال بررسی این شکاف نسلی با استفاده از باورها، ارزش‌ها، نگرش‌ها، احساسات، هنجار‌ها و رفتارهای جامعه ایرانی بعد از انقلاب اسلامی، پیرو پیمایش «ارزش‌ها و نگرش‌های ایرانیان» که در سال 1382 به واکاوی مسئله پرداخته است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد در سطح باورها وارزش‌ها، پیوستگی و وفاق وجود دارد و تفاوت اندک در این زمینه طبیعی هر جامعه‌ای می‌باشد اما در زمینه برخی از هنجارها و رفتارها، دچار تفاوت‌های معنی‌دار بوده که می‌توان شکاف نسلی را در رفتار‌ها و نماد‌ها بر آن گذاشت. https://jiss.isca.ac.ir/article_21486_4dd9125eb2f6ee588816041023dedf19.pdf
