Journal Article 2016 03 29 Nowadays the discussion of the origin of religion is that of philosophy of religion and modern theology, so there is still no final and comprehensive explanation about it. Nevertheless, of important views and approaches toward religion are functional theories, which explain the origin of religion according to individual and social functions in two realms of psychology and sociology. Some works and thoughts of Muslim scholars also have paid attention to the epistemological and emotional need of human to religion and have resorted to functional ponders to justify religiosity. Here we try to highlight the most important distinctive features of such functional view from the perspective of Western and Muslim thinkers; we also pay attention to general and specific criticisms on its extremist explanation fundamentally and methodologically. Besides, the content of each view is explained and the minimalist view to functions of religion, which originates from the legitimacy of religion and confusion of the origin of religiosity with the origin of religion among westerners, is analyzed and criticiz.   <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />امروزه بحث از منشأ دین، در شمار بحث‌های فلسفۀ دین و کلام جدید قرار گرفته و هنوز نمی‌توان تبیین نهایی و مورد اجماعی در این باره به دست داد. با این وجود، از جمله دیدگاه‌ و رهیافت‌های مهم درباره دین، نظریه‌های کارکردی آن است که بر پایه مبانی خاص نظری، منشأ و خاستگاه دین با توجه به کارکردهای فردی و اجتماعی آن در دو رهیافت روان شناختی و جامعه شناختی توجیه و تبیین می‌گردد. در برخی آثار و اندیشه‌های متفکران مسلمان نیز زمینه‌های گرایش بشر به سوی دین و نیازهای معرفتی و عاطفی او به دین مورد توجه قرار گرفته و از تأملات کارکردی برای توجیه دینداری استفاده شده است. این نوشتار بر آن است تا مهم‌ترین تمایز دیدگاه کارکردی از منظر اندیشمندان غربی و مسلمان را مورد بررسی قرار داده و به نقدهای عام و خاص بر تبیین افراطی آن از جهت مبنا و روش، بپردازد. علاوه بر اینکه محتوای هر یک از این دو دیدگاه نیز مورد سنجش قرار گرفته و نگاه تقلیل‌گرایانه، به کارکردهای دین ـ که ناشی از عدم توجه به حقانیت دین و خلط میان منشأ دینداری و منشأ دین است ـ در اندیشه متفکران غربی، نقد و بررسی قرار خواهد گرفت. https://jiss.isca.ac.ir/article_4413_048b3797226f783748a5790571458b5f.pdf
